France's oldest A.O.C wine, Monbazillac is a luscious blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grapes touched by "Noble Rot" which are carefully harvested by hand over many passes through the vineyard.
2005 was a particularly good year for Domaine de Grange Neuve and this wine won a prestigious Decanter Magazine Gold Award. The wine has a deep golden colour and explosive crystallised fruit flavours with a rich acacia honey sweetness, not at all cloying because of its well balanced citrus acidity. Very well made indeed.
Best served chilled as an aperitif, or it makes the most perfect Perigord accompanyment to foie gras. Also goes nicely with flavourful cheeses.
