France's oldest A.O.C wine, Monbazillac is a luscious blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grapes touched by "Noble Rot" which are carefully harvested by hand over many passes through the vineyard.
2007 was a particularly good year for Domaine de Grange Neuve. The wine has a deep golden colour and explosive crystallised fruit flavours with a rich acacia honey sweetness, not at all cloying because of its well balanced citrus acidity. Very well made indeed.
Serve chilled as an aperitif, or it makes the most perfect Perigord accompanyment to foie gras. Just cool of room temperature it also goes very nicely with rich fruit puddings and flavourful cheeses.
